National Parks are full of wonder, but most people don’t get the chance to experience them in person. While nothing beats the real thing, still Google technology brings the parks to everyone with a smartphone, laptop, or tablet in an immersive 360° VR experience.

The National Park of Peneda-Gerês, with 69,594.48 ha, extends from the plateaus of Mourela to Castro Laboreiro, including the Peneda, Soajo, Amarela and Gerês mountains. It is a mountainous region, essentially granitic in whose high altitude areas the effects of the last glaciation are visible. Deep, embedded valleys support a dense hydrographic network that allows for a wide variety of ways of life and experiences.

The Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park, with 38,392.91 ha, covers a significant part of the Estremenho Limestone Massif (MCE), which corresponds to an area of elevations greater than 200 m that stands out from the surrounding areas with altitudes ranging from 100 and 200 m. This elevated area develops between the municipalities of Leiria, Rio Maior, Torres Novas and Tomar, approximately 30 km from the coast. The dryness, accentuated by the absence of surface watercourses, marks a landscape to which faults, escarpments and rocky outcrops give a vigorous and wild feature. The water runs through an intricate underground network. Karst erosion, in turn, originated characteristic formations - polje, lapiá fields, limpets and sinkholes, uvalas and sinkholes - in a rare profusion of forms. Often, the cavities are fertile in speleothems (stalactites, stalagmites...).
